Call the Cops
Even with Rex flinging himself at the front door, barking and growling, George decided that he couldn’t handle this alone. Since the intimidating man was there in search of Zoey, the safest option seemed to be to call the police.
Maybe seeing the police were now involved in whatever was going on behind the scenes of her life would finally get Zoey to tell the truth. Plus, the police would scare off this strange man at the same time.
